Russian folk song based on a poem by Alexander Ammosova (1823-1866) "Elegy", first published November 16, 1858 in a military magazine "Russian Invalid". The poem was inspired by the Caucasian war of 1817-1864, which Ammosov participated under the command of Konstantin Danzas, a second Pushkin. The poem became a song and became a songwriter.
