When rating an image, please don't make snap judgments, or use the ratings system for personal reasons (such as retaliation for past ratings from other members). We can and do monitor and investigate questionable ratings trends from individual users, and can easily detect abuses of the system such as collusive voting, ratings manipulation through dummy accounts and other fraudulent uses. We treat such violations very seriously, and typically ban users found responsible for systemic abuses. Ratings abuses should be reported to the Site Director as soon as possible.
