The next installment of the Desert Lypse series is on its way. We're in the planning stages now, and I'll be publishing more info in this thread as we get closer. Tickets have been promised to a few individuals already, but there will still be some more tickets available for sale soon.
Accomodations:
We have secured some very sweet rates at the luxurious Golf Villas of Oro Valley. There will be one- two- and three-bedroom condos available for less than the cost of a standard hotel room. The three bedroom, seriously, is 1400 sq ft. These things are awesome. We're probably going to be using the Golf Villas as one of our shooting locations as well, so staying here will be in your best interest.
YOU CAN BOOK YOUR ROOM AT THE GOLF VILLAS WHENEVER YOU LIKE. Remember, you have to call to get the rates. Just mention you're with the iStockphoto group, or mention my name, Ethan Myerson.
Room rates at the Golf Villas of Oro Valley
We've gotten a really good rate for our group.
1 Bedroom: $79/night + tax
2 Bedroom: $89/night + tax
3 Bedroom/2 Bath: $109/night + tax
You won't see these rates on their website, so when the time comes to book your room, you'll have to call them directly. I'll get photos online soon, as this will be one of our shooting locations as well.
Warning:
This event is going to be a little more focused on creativity, collaboration, and experimentation than usual. Newcomers are certainly welcome - even encouraged - to join, but please be aware that we're asking people to have a minimum level of comfort with lighting, directing, and the other technical aspects of image creation. I'm happy to assist, as will be most attendees, but this event is going to be geared toward shooting and creating, not learning the basics. If you don't feel comfortable using studio lights on your own, this may not be the event for you.
