I've read through the forums on the topic of alpha mattes. All of them are locked so I can't ad anything or ask a question.
I want to be able to upload alpha mattes with STILL images as well. The mattes are there, already rendered and very powerful to use, so it doesn't make sense not to give it to the person who wants to use the file. I'm a compositor and would see much more value in a file WITH alphas than to have to paint stuff out, even if it is just a still. Much more so with rendered sequences.
This topic seems to have gone quiet and it's an important one? iStock people?

Me too! I just don´t get it that all the perfect alpha channels from 3d renderings cannot be used. Clipping path just donßt cut it when it comes to complex isolations.
So not only is it a lot more pointless work for the contributor but also a quality issue.
I´ve seen many threads on this but nobody at istock seems to care - everything just gets locked.
The only thing one could do is to double the imagesize and put the alphachannel side by side with the original image. I haven´t tried that yet nor did I see somebody else do it. Though it would totally add to the value of images I am not sure if customers would dig the thumbnails with the alphachannel visible.... and of course images would be more expensive since they are all twice the size.
Please somebody tell us why there is no support for such an unbelievable useful feature!?
