It seems I can no longer use HTML in my descriptions. I have used it in the past to link to similar images or galleries, etc., but I tried to do so today and can't. All the old HTML code in my image descriptions seems to be working just fine, but I can't add it to new images. Is this a glitch or intentional? If it is intentional how can I put links in the description now?

No it's a feature. All user parsed information has been changing from HTML to UBB. Image descriptions have just changed. UBB is much safer as it is not possible to embed nasty java or flash or other possible security risks. You old images will still work with the HTML, but if you edit the files information you will have to update to UBB code.

Okay, that makes sense, but I don't know UBB code, so how do I learn the basics?

Yep, just double checked, UBB still does not work, it shows up as plain text.

I would be interested as well, as I add HTML to many of my descriptions once the image is accepted. I'd like to know if UBB will work in its place. From all the comments I've read, it is not working ... yet.

Me too. I added:
www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&galleryID=11506

into the description and just got the words. No Link. Any UBB pros out there?

I guess this does link to my gallery from here but not from photo description???

(Edited on 2005-01-05 05:47:13 by LOUOATES)

I guess not. It just gives the message that the page (gallery) doesn't exist.

I started a support ticket on it.

Derek, support guru, insists that the programmers are working on it.

Your link has to start with "http://", otherwise the link will never work. BTW: This has always been like that.

Any official word on this?

Right now, it won't accept html and it won't translate UBB.

I tried here, but it only shows the code.

I'd need to edit some keywords on this photo, but if I do I have to remove all of my related images thumbnails.
