Recently, on Jan.6th 2005, someone purchased a medium file and I recieved 20 cents, but I looked in the past and other medium files were 20 cents as well...I thought the prices went up, plus I get a bronze bonus....what's happening?

Pictures purchased with credits prior to Jan 3rd are purchased at the old price and there is no bonus. Pictures purchased with new credits are at the higher rate. As for the bonus part of it on new credit purchases you need to hear from someone who went exclusive but they may still be working on the programming.

credits purchased before the price increase are valid for one year. When someone uses those credits you get the old pricing.. if they buy at the new prices and use those credits then you will see the higher royalty (still 20%, but 20% of a higher amount).

old credits are used before new ones.

Now will someone please post a sticky on the main page about this!

oh yeah.. and you only get the bonus if you signed the exclusive contract and got acceptance for exclusivity. As far as I know no one has been set up as exlusive yet. there will be a special "badge" (icon) for those who go exclusive. I signed up the minute I could, and have not heard anything yet.

Maybe set it up so that anyone wanting to ask that question first buys an image. Then the one they buy the image from, answers the question.

If they buy with 2005 credits or bit pass, they get the fastest answer.

Hmmm, where can I sign up for this deal? That ought to get me over 500 quickly! ha!

In a less capitalist manner, I think a nice plain language sticky with a chart and illustration of the options is a really really really good idea.

Don't settle for a dime, go for the new rate plus bonus.

good idea.. this should be pasted as a sticky on the main page:

from Bitter's "future" thread

Download Credits from 2004 All credits purchased prior to January 3, 2005 will still be honored under the same rules after the price change. For designers, this means that credits purchased this year will have the same purchasing power in 2005.

Photographers will experience a transition period for up to 1 year, in which credits purchased prior to January 3, 2005 will continue to pay royalties at the 2004 rate of 10/20/30 cents per credit. Photographs purchased with "new" 2005 credits will immediately pay the new, higher royalty along with the exclusivity bonus, if applicable.
