The new contract states that payments will be sent automatically on the 15th of each month, as long as a minimum of $100 has been earned.

I understand that iStock would not want to send three or five or 10 cheques a month because some people hit $100 very fast, but there are some of us who would prefer to accumulate $200 or $300 before cashing out, which might take several months. Is there a possibility of introducing an option for cheques not to be sent until a higher figure than $100 is reached?

Yup I agree. Also I like to wait until I'm over $100 so I have $$ left in the account so I can buy credits. I like the old way where you just request a check.

I agree as well. Maybe there should be a 'threshold' preference that you could set in your profile.

I also would prefer to accumulate more $$$ before the check is sent to me and that's what I am doing now.

I guess I didn't read it to be automatic. I was thinking that we would still request payment when we wanted payment, but it wouldn't be processed until the next 15th. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to convert to credits at our whim.

Wouldn't this pose a large problem for member in certain countries where international bank acconts and paypal accounts are a problem?

And would it be able to be a Paypal payment rather than cheque?

Thats how I read it too, that payment requests could go in whenever, but they would only be sent out on the 15th.

That's how I read it too - like you. Just that the requests would all be done on the 15th.

Maybe someone from Admin could chime in and clear that up for us.

THANKS!

The contract obligates us to make a payment when you hit $100, although we will not do so until you request one. There are people that request checks monthly, but some of you who must deal with transaction and foreign exchange fees wait until your amounts are higher to reduce these costs. And as always, we issue Paypal or check payments, based on your preference.

LOL, it's how I communicate with Pat via check requests

I'm still unclear on this too as Amanda said. Can I still put in requests once I hit the $100. mark at any time during the month?

OK I see what Pat's saying. Once you have reached $100 you can request a cheque or paypal payment at any time of the month, or you can keep saving. As Pat said the contract obligates iStock to pay up once you have $100 or more, previously the contract didn't actually obligate iStock to pay anyone although of course they did. So the paragraph is there to give more legal protection to members.

ah... so basically as long as you are over $100 they have to pay AT LEAST monthly (on the 15th) ?

So do you mean nothing is really changing, but now there is some legal mumbo jumbo that looks close to what you really do?

In a word, yes. Keep on requesting checks like the way you've been requesting them in the past. The only difference is that you have legal assurances to back that up.

I tried to request a check (it was my first time ever), and nothing is happening - my account balance stays the same, and I receive no confirmation. Is it how it's supposed to be?

it'll take a little while for everything to be processed. Once it's processed the money is deducted from your account. (Of course, if it takes a long time to deduct, support is the best option)

You get two emails from support - one right away telling you your support ticket # and then another one once the cheque is processed and mailed. The deduction from your balance happens in line with the 2nd email. (From my experience).

Hope that helps. Like always, support is great for taking care of any problems you might have. I called them about an overlooked support ticket and they took care of it immediately - GREAT SERVICE!
