OLD POST - BUT STILL RELEVANT because these old credits are still out there.

Hey all,

A very popular question these days goes a little something like this:

"Why am I getting paid (amount A) instead of (amount B)"?

Lets say amount A represents what you would have been paid in the past, and amount B is what you would be paid after the price change.

To clarify, any purchase made with the old credits (credits purchased before the price change) will not show a difference in commission. Only the new credits (purchased after the change) will give you more money on the downloads.

Now sometimes you'll see an odd amount of commission. This is the result of a combination of old and new credits used to purchase an image. It's fairly rare, but does happen.

I hope this clarifies things, please feel free to contact support if you have questions.

You realize, of course, Stellar, that this won't actually result in any fewer threads being posted about the royalty discrepancies, right?

Oh I know! But it might reduce the emails/tickets I get

If only we could make the thread title blink.

Or have a check box before submitting a new thread that says "Yes, I've read the thread about Commission Discrepancies, and this has nothing to do with it."

Does anyone remember the thread (I looked but can't find it) in which the majority of people admited to not knowing what the questions were on the upload page? They only new that the answers were no, no, no, yes.

I can see it now:

New Thread/message:

Does anybody know what's up with the yes, yes,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,yes, yes page?

End Thread/message.

Let's get this information in a FAQ or a sticky that doesn't get unstickied regularly. Close the thread to comments if you want.

Also, please include details explaining that exclusives don't get any extra bonus on old credit sales (i.e. the same rules apply to exclusives re: old credits...).

Eureka. I made it to the end of the thread and found just the information I was curious about. Couldn't figure out why my new exclusive status didn't always apply. Thanks Zero.

Wow. Here we are in May and people are still using old credits.

It does explain my confusion though.
Thanks to those who pointed me in this direction.

I'm still using up my Christmas stamps so I shouldn't complain too much about old credits, and I wont even suggest a time limit.

GG
