I'm mucking about with vectors (normally use Illustrator for text and logo type things but thought I'd have a play as it's sitting there)
How come some vector cost 2 download credits and some only cost one
This costs 2 credits:
and this costs 1 credit:
though I have thought of several reasons... none of them added up
Secondly read a few things in forum about creating (not tracing) vectors from photos, some dude said this is bang out of order! Is this true????
Hope the normal people who dig me out the holes I've dug are ready to put me straight!

The complexity and difficulty of the image are allegedly used to value them, wherein very complex and difficult (skillwise) images are rated 3 credits, simple easily achieved images are rated 1 and everything else is in the middle.
Those images appear to me to be valued correctly.
You can create images from your own photos without any fear whatsoever, but do not just auto-trace them. Use them as a guideline, sure.

If I had to guess because I'm not sitting beside you while you do it? Yes, it has the appearance of a photo that was posterized, or otherwise reduced to a smaller set of colours, and then traced or vectorized using an application.
Somewhere in here I have a link to two photos (also at http://www.zerocattle.com/istock/ but I'm not sure where, you'll have to step through) where I have a photo and a raster image of a photo I vectorized using Draw. The difference isn't much.

Nevermind, I went looking, lol...
Both are different levels of vectorized tracing:
The real image is in my portfolio as part of four.

Mmmm ok you win. You're right it was a vectorized photo (am I gonna burn for that) though I went straight from photo to vector (no posterizing). I reckon I could produce a vector from photo that looked like a trace!
Nice site too!
Thanks for your help (as ever)
Do you actually live on the forum?

Suzanne IS the forum... LOL
Actually Suzanne is a great brain for "picking"!!! and she is always willing to help out!

I don't actually have a physical body, I just float around in the ether pestering the crap out of people.
Actually, lol, vectors are something I enjoy and I like helping people to gain good karma to counter the horrible karma I get from thinking evil thoughts about some of my more recalcitrant clients.
The section of my site I sent you to is actually a Gallery from MattScherf (Artist of the Week this week) -- check out his profile for links.
As for burning, I imagine you'll only burn if it's someone else's photo. If that's the case, just deactivate it and you'll be fine. If it's not, don't sweat it, but do consider learning more about the wonderful world of Vectors!

No no no it's one of mine (tragically it's me!) it got rejected first time as an inspector suspected this... once I had mailed them begging forgiveness and pointing out it was my ugly mush and I was the copyright holder I was pardoned and my appointment with the hangman cancelled.
