We know that many of you here in our community also contribute images to StockXpert. We have just announced that StockXpert is ceasing regular operations. Searching and downloading there will stop as of February 11.

If you are an SXP contributor reading this and aren’t already contributing to iStock, we would love to welcome you here and see you involved in our community. Sign up and get involved. If you are already an iStocker, we encourage you to upload any files which aren’t already in our collection.

We’d also like to announce that we will allow all StockXpert customers to transfer their credits here to iStock, where they will be honored on a 1 for 1 basis. If you have SXP credits to transfer, login to your SXP account and follow the instructions on the front page.

We know that this is tough news for many of you. SXP had a loyal community and will be missed by many.

Our free site Stock.Xchng will continue being the leading destination for those on a really tight budget.

Can you be a bit more explicit about how to transfer credits?  The links provided on the SXP site just directs you to this thread, which of course tells you to click the link on the SXP home page, which again brings you back to this thread.  See where I'm going?

I'm sure it's just a temporary glitch (or that I'm just too stupid to figure it out), but I'd appreciate a little guidance.

Thanks.

non-continuation of non-exclusivity? My brain has to work overtime, but I take it that means you're heading for a crown?

Pity. I was getting to quite like SXP, modest though the returns were. I suppose the client base is being "migrated" to the new subscription site? Not that all the sales there were for subscriptions.

According to Rob's OP, they're being migrated here:

It is unclear for me to. I clicked on the link on the Stockxpert site to transfer my earnings to stockxpert. I directed me to the istock site. Is there any other action I have to take? There was no confirmation on the site or by email.

Ah. I thought he was talking about contributors' credits. I'm still not sure that he isn't, because SXP customers are going to feel mightily conned if they get switched from a low cost subscription to a high cost credit model. Subscriptions account for more than three-quarters of the business there, as far as I can see.

If the reference was to customers, not contributors, then it isn't clear how we get our payout (though they say over there that if we have an iS account we can transfer the cash here).

What are their credits worth to us, as contributors? $1? $1.50?

I know nothing about that site, but am only quoting from another forum:

"Here is what Seb said on the SXP forum:

As for your earnings you can either transfer then to your iStock account by logging back into your account and then follow the guidelines to do so.

If you don't want to transfer to iStock or do not have an account there, email customer support and ask for a complete payout. I suggest you only do so after Feb 10 in case you get more sales until then"

won't there be duplicate of the photos? It says on SXP that they will have a collection at ThinkStock with their images, with the royalties sent back through SXP. Istock images are already there. What if the same image is in two collections on ThinkStock? Also I have 300+ more pictures on SXP than I do here so if you want me to transfer the images here, will there be an opening of the uploads valve to enable me to do so? I can hardly submit new photos and transfer 300+ shots with my meagre 15 a week limit...

I see Photodisc is listed there so eveything we have on Photodisc is on there.  Are we still getting 20% through Getty since they have been on other sites all along?  I'm assuming so,.

If you're speaking of thinkstock, it's just "selected" stuff from the various collections. I have no work there when I search my name. I feel bad for the Getty contributors who were "selected".

1 SXP credit converted to iStock credit has a value of 1 USD as far as calculating royalties goes.

Well, I wondered how this was all working, I see a couple of my Photodisc images at Thinkstock.
