I have just heard of Born of Hope which is a Lord of the Rings prequel that was made for the princely sum of £25,000. I haven't watched it all (I am at work) but the clips I have seem look fantastic.
I am staggered at what has been achieved for so little. Well done to Kate Madison for having the vision and determination to create a film from a Hollywood blockbuster lunch budget.

orcs are nocturnal
uruks in this time period are just WRONG
what was Aragorn doing in an area that looked like Ithelien?
or, what were men and orcs doing in the Shire?
... and we only got a few minutes in (that is, myself and Andre, my eldest son who continue's to astound his dad as to how well learned in Tolkien's lore he is)

Interesting. Just curious -- but are you able to surmise if it's based upon one of Tolkein's unfinished tales? or The Silmarillion? or The Hobbitt? Or Farmer Giles of Ham? Or just a script cobbled together using characters and bits and pieces of the main body of the Trilogy?

I suppose the latter, but it looks truly well done and deserving of congratulations.
