I've come up with some logos recently, that would work well as stand-alone vector illustrations... It's hard to weigh up the potential success of a file as a once off logo, compared to many sales as an illustration.


Has anyone else come accross this problem?

yes, I thought the same - seems to be taking forever for the logos to be made available so perhaps it is better to just upload as vector illos - no litmus test to taste the difference

LOL! I'm a silly idiot and I was skimming! simonox lured me in and I hadn't a clue! lifeandlove, sorry to be of no help in your obviously relevant discussion!
Now that I'm back to this thread, I have a personal opinion: Apparently I am not especially good at logos - so my preference, at least for now, is to build my illustration portfolio rather than my logo collection. It would be wonderful to see the Logos up running and gain some perspective and maybe to rekindle some excitement over the program.

Here's what happened to me...
I wanted to design a logo for the monthly contest (security and protection theme). Between the various sketches I started working on a ducky rubber ring.

The logo was almost ready, but then I started to work anymore on it.
I added a hand... I placed it in the waves... I placed the rubber ring into the sea... then I added a cloud, a lightning... And finally emerged out of an illustration!



I think this is an experience that happens to many people, it is important to understand when to turn a design into a logo or an illustration. I hope I did!
