If I do I'll be a crazy golden banana. It's anybody's game yet though, despite the ratings. Lauren has been much better with carryover than me - I've been taking the easy way out which does leave me freer to design what I want but doesn't go down too well with the judges. Besides, my images are pretty simplistic, only a couple of elements in each.

ETA: On the leader board I've been sitting behind two people both of whom won 6 battles all by DQ. I must admit I wouldn't mind getting past them at last. I'll have to make a special effort with this last blow.

Try again

Have just tried twice to upload my blow but images not received. Hope this gets fixed soon, although I do have plenty of time (famous last words).

Practice is so important for those of us who don't do this kind of work day in day out as part of our job. After 75 steel cage blows and constant reminders from judges about what I still need to work on I believe I have improved. My earliest images were pretty abysmal.

It's hard for neophytes to find appropriate opponents because not many such remain active in the cage. Despite Alexs advice that I should battle better opponents to learn something, I believe I need to execute the basics better rather than learn new techniques. I know what I should be doing, I'm just not very skilled at doing it. Practice. I'm much more motivated to do this if my effort can really make the difference between winning and losing.

Anyway, hang in here Lauren. If you're really intetested in becoming a bit more creative it's a great place to learn that.

Thanks for the show - I shall read the judgement with interest having followed the blows. I think too much in terms of story and carryover but I'm starting to think more about the quality of composite. Fun, anyway!

You should try it sometime Jean. You've got a few isolations in your port - try to put then into a new background. I actually had a couple of composites (isolated subjects composited into a simple background) accepted into the collection before I started in the cage. I was totally rapt the first time I achieved that. Doors opened...Christina Warrior Woman was born...

4 - 5 - 5 - 4 - 6 = 24

Hey guys first up sorry this battle took so long to be judged. With that said I really enjoyed this battle. Christina awesome work its not very often when we get life like blows, I think usually because its so hard, what you find more often then not cage designs are on the dark side, lots of black so you can hid all your uglies easy enough. So hats off for that effort. RL by the end of the battle I feel you were just starting to get into the swin of things, The opening design im not sure about there seemed to be a miss match of images which made tit a hard job making them all feel like they belong.
I pick CC to win this just marginally but i think if there was ever a rematch we may not see the same outcome, something tells me RL has plenty in the reserve tank.

7 - 7 - 7 - 7 - 6 = 34
5 - 6 - 6 - 7 - 6 = 30

Great job guys, I really enjoyed the progression of theme. Each blow transitioned from one to another in a very entertaining way. crazychristina had the edge here with some very nice crisp work. redleash, awesome work but I would suggest to just be very careful with the elements in terms of isolation and image quality. Be careful when you're resizing images not to blow them up too much where they become blurry, and not to resize elements in small increments back and forth as this degrades the image quality. Keep up the awesome work guys, each blow here was more impressive than the last. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next.

----------------------------------------
6 - 6 - 7 - 7 - 7 = 33
6 - 6 - 7 - 6 - 7 = 32

Nice one you two!
RedLeash had some interesting concepts happening, and as the battle progressed I saw her challenging herself more and kicking it up a notch at each blow. My favorites from her were R3V1 and R5V1.

Crazychristina also had some interesting concepts happening with a nice attention to detail. The lighting and isolation was well executed. My favorites from you were R3V2 and R4V2.
