Posted Sat Jul 3, 2010 10:11AM | In case you haven't noticed, there is a bit of an issue with higher than normal views. The right folks know about it. I don't know yet when it will be resolved.
When we know more, we'll post more. |

Is this the thread where we go to get extra image views because I'd be glad to have some, where do we go to get extra sales?
(this isn't going to get me banned is it?)

Can you re-assure us that these thousands of views on our new uploads isn't going to make them disappear from the view of buyers as soon as they've passed through the browse recent pages?
People have been suggesting that we'll need to deactivate then re-upload affected files... please say that's not going to be needed |
Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 11:17AM | This is one of the loudest threads I've ever read!!!!!!!!!!! |

If an admin didn't suggest it don't do it. |

I can assure you I have no idea. |
Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 2:13PM | i think that the number of visits of the photos is proportional to the sum of individual digits of each photo ... more this sum is higher and the number of visits is higher |

^ nope, I checked my recent files. That's not it. Maybe its the largest prime factor?

I think Istock has a warehouse full of numbers and now they're trying to get rid of them by dumping them on unsuspecting uploaders who'll take the fall for numbering up their uploads, this is big!

Who is yelling? And how come the title of this is all in CAPS? And why is no one listening when I Wah-Wah-Wah-Wah---WaaaUnder---Why???? BTW - I gotta lotta views on my most recent pictures. It's cuz I suddenly got popular. But don't say anything - and pleeeze don't start any new threads!! They'll all be doing it.

the lack of concern about this in this thread makes me feel it is not something to be overly worried about, or everyone is just too busy deactivating. I will not be doing that, I think it is a maladaptive strategy.
but I hope as in past situations if there is a best match 'penalty' of sorts for having all these views against dl numbers - it will be dealt with fairly.

   Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 7:24PM | Don't deactivate. Relax. Don't panic. |
Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 7:47PM | Sorry Stacey - don't mean to make fun of anyone's anxiety. It's just that they've said - about a bazillion times in about a zillion threads that the problem is being worked on. I, for one, will now go and hide until it's over. But just to say it - for one such as I with little so far here to make me stand out among anything close to even the marginal producers - it's been fun for a couple of days to have a picture with 1000 views in less than three days. Course it got to 1000 before I ever saw it had been accepted. And hasn't moved since. But, well - you know...! |
Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 7:50PM | Willowpix, I will hold you to that. |
Posted Sun Jul 4, 2010 7:51PM | in a pool of millions of images, any disadvantage is worrying. but I still think deactivating live images in order to reupload them is ridiculous. no panic, just don't like seeing all those artificial views. |

Hi
It seems to be a random bug, not all the files are affected.
All my last files are affected, I will not deactivate them but waiting for good news and most important I'd like to know if this bug will be a problem for best match algorytm of these files.
ciao
