![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 8:39AM | If anyone is still having trouble logging in with Internet Explorer 8, can you try this: 1. Select ‘Tools’ > ‘Compatibility View Settings’ add http://www.istockphoto.com, click on ‘Close’ 2. Select ‘Tools’ > ‘Internet Options’ > SECURITY tab > set it to MEDIUM.Click on ‘Trusted Sites’ (green check mark) and click on SITES. Add the following: https://secure.istockphoto.com - click ADD. Close. 3. Go to the GENERAL tab and under 'browsing history' click DELETE, then select 'Temporary Internet Files' and 'Cookies'; click on DELETE. Let the browser empty it's cache. Restart your computer. |
![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 8:47AM | i did all the above. still problems with win 7. only cure seems to be opening istock as first tab. don;t know why. very very wierd login protocol and major annoyance. and not a new problem. hope it can get resolved soon. good luck. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 9:04AM | I've had problems all morning (IE8/Win7). I can log in just fine but get logged out after a few seconds to a few minutes after navigating around. Just started today. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 9:16AM | @Rob, Just did exactly what you suggest up top. Presuming I can stay logged in |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 9:35AM | Looks like that worked! Is iStock expecting that the 15.7% of customers using IE8 will read this thread or will there be an auto fix? (Edited on 2010-07-15 09:36:15 by AndrewJohnson) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:01AM | Customers typically contact support directly as opposed to using the forum. That said, they have been battling this problem with IE for some time. |
Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:04AM | If you are smart you will provide a no nonsense login form for your members instead of what you have. Honestly even when it works it's a poor experience. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:05AM | I did just what you said got logged off again. Using IE7 When I right click for a tab, go to the tab to enter into a lightbox, it stalls and does nothing. Go to the next tab and I've been logged off. Can't seem to put image in a lightbox after calling it up as a tab. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:10AM | Same here... it keeps logging me off and then must try many times before I get logged in again. IE7 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:23AM | Posted By AndrewJohnson: Is iStock expecting that the 15.7% of customers using IE8 will read this thread or will there be an auto fix? It's more like 30% when you include IE7/6. What a ridiculous situation. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:26AM | I can recreate the problem on demand. Log in to iStock in first tab. Open second tab. From second tab, click on Lightboxes link on main menu bar and poof - logged out! IE8/Win7 |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:33AM | Nope. I got logged off again. Even after doing the steps at top. Seems to happen most frequently when I have been doing thus and such and then click my avatar/link at top left to get back to my "iStock homepage". And I rarely use the tabs functionality. Just have iStock as my first tab in this window today as usual. Vista/IE8. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:36AM | Thanks for the reports. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:45AM | Still having problems here too. I'll use firefox but will keep testing in IE. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:52AM | I made the changes suggested at the top of this post but I am still having the logoff problem. IE8 |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:03AM | Having the same problems. In fact it will keep logging me off on a regular basis uising IE8. If you open a second tab then it definitely will happen. Will try what was suggested above. The word frustration does not come close. You start uploading, etc, and bam- you need to log in again and all is lost. Cheers Robert |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:05AM | Problem is also to RELOGGED-IN infact it does not accept the logins data. Is that "flash" maybe? |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:23AM | ^Just realized - after reading prior post about Flash - that my Adobe Flash Player was apparently not up to date. So just deleted old(er) version and installed version 10.1. Also, my PC is 64-bit Vista, and this flash version apparently doesn't work with 64-bit IE8. So I thought maybe that might be contributing to the problem. But I checked that too, and I have using IE8 32-bit version all along. Anyway, maybe the latest flash version will help? I'll see what happens. |
![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:24AM | Just tried again and it did not work. In fact when it happens it does not accept your login credientials. The only answer is to close down and start over. I have to imagine customers are suffering the same problem and if you were in the process of downloading it would be very upsetting. It is unbelievable how many times it will log you out in ten minutes. For me it just started this last week and I was using IE 8 for many months. Cheers Robert |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:30AM | "The only answer is to close down and start over" ...or use FireFox. It's free and it works. (Edited on 2010-07-15 11:31:20 by AndrewJohnson) |
