I would like to be a part of this! I live in Launceston so any suggestions about reasonable accommodation would be helpful. Great effort Ben!

I'm hoping to get a special rate on accommodation that's similar to what we had last year - will post details if I can make it happen.

I think this is doable for me too. Sounds like a great opportunity to spend some time with some great photographer. I main focus is landscape photography but I want to move a bit more into portrait and product work. I'm looking forward to it already.

How are people placed for Public Liability Insurance?

I've been speaking to a few brokers, and their feedback to date is that each person attending will need their own coverage against any damage they may do to property, themselves, or other people.

The best starting point is to check your current home and contents insurance - some policy providers provide PLI as part of that.

How do people feel about doing an outdoor shoot on one of the days? I've been hesitant to commit to one this time around given the heavy downpour we experienced last year.

Hey Ben,

FYI - My NRMA home and contents gives me 20 Million public liability.

Has there been any word on accommodation yet? I was thinking of booking flights/accommodation soon and was curious where a close and cheap hotel was.... (I have a feeling that is an oxymoron though

Hi Doug,

I actually have a deal from the Rendezvous Hotel. It's $169/night, all you need to do is tell them you're coming for the istockphoto shoot when you book. You'll also need to show them proof of your attendance ie: your lanyard when paying.

We've got a special accomodation deal for the shoot from one of last year's venues: All Nations backpackers.

1. Private Twin rooms (double bed with bunk bed above): $63/night
2. Private Double rooms (two separate beds): $80/night
3. Bed in a 4 or 6 bed dorm: $24

All rooms have a secure swipe card entry. Bathrooms are communal.

To book one of these, you have to contact me direct ie: do NOT contact the hostel.

I will co-ordinate numbers with the hostel to finalise the bookings (this is at their request). Their bookings are filling quickly - especially for the private rooms, as U2 are apparently going to be in town that weekend. Get in quick!
