If there's one thing I'd change about the new iStock layout, I'd move the toolbar from the bottom of the browser window to the top of the browser window.

If you use Chrome, or if you use FireFox and have Greasemonkey installed (or if you use any other browser that understand Greasemonkey scripts), then you can just install this script:

Disclaimer: works for me. Your mileage may vary.

There is a solution for Safari (Mac) users too.
http://8-p.info/greasekit/ After installing this (SIMBL and GreaseKit) the script will be working for Safari.

this one actually does not bother me much, but i can understand you would like to have to option to be able to move it. I guess Greasemonkey will have to do for now...

I'm glad it's useful.
Just be aware that the My Account pop-up menu on the toolbar doesn't work in a useful way with this modification. It actually works exactly how it does in the unadulterated version, but it now pops up above the top of the window where you can't see it.
If you click on your avatar or username in the top left or upper right you have all the My Account links in the left navigation menu anyway, so I'm not going to lose too much sleep over this.

May You make an similar hack to move table in "my account" section on the top (directly after navigation bar, over all other info)?

thank You!

Kind of works, but the 'my account' jump list goes off the top of the screen and become unusable.

I'm afraid so, yes. It's probably worth re-quoting this (which I'm not even going to pretend is good enough to call a workaround) for the benefit of anyone who doesn't know how to get to the My Account links otherwise:

I miss being able to go straight to downloads and check my balance from the top bar, it was so convenient. New design is pretty though.

Thanks for making this script available, but I don't think it's the final solution. While it is a nice gimmick to have this toolbar prevalent all the time, iStock should do what other well-known companies like Amazon or eBay do, too, and don't use this floating element. It should just be part of the upper non-floating banner. If the developers wanted to be consistent, the whole top-banner with the keyword entry would have to be a floating element, too. But I would like that even less.

I know this is sort of off-topic in this particular thread, but I wanted to vent somewhere.
