I'm looking for a digital camera that I can use underwater when snorkeling. I'm thinking of the Nikon 5600 or Nikon S1, S2, or S3 with waterproof housings. Has anyone used these or other underwater equipment?

I would suggest you take a look at what housings are available and their cost before you buy your camera. (if that's what you will use it for most of the time) one source

And you will definitely need a lightsource unless you are taking photos a couple feet from the surface and it's really sunny. A built in flash will not be good because it will just illuminate the plankton and other particles in front of your subject.

Hope this is a start for you.
