We've had two awesome mini-challenges already for this year's Battle Royale that have seen the Cage crowd do what they do best: create stunning stories and breathe life-like realism into the most fantastic of scenes.

For the next challenge though, we're going in a different direction.

Mini-Challenge 3: Abstraction

Now is the time to get non-representational. You have an 800x600 canvas: we want to see you do something new with it. Flex those expressive aesthetic muscles and show us something graphic, visual, and dynamic.

Download up to 10 of the images from the lightbox linked here. Combine them with other stock images. Use typography if you want. Do some painting. Try a new direction.

Upload your entries at iStockbattleroyale.com before 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 24. We will announce the winners the afternoon of November 1.

The winner will receive $250 US, a Wacom Intuos4 Medium tablet, a one year NAPP membership, and a bunch of iStock swag.

We have credits and swag for our 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

The Abstraction challenge will be judged by the design team here in the iStock office.

You don't have to use 10, no. You should use at least 3.
