The IOTW is a well done photo, congrats ! But to show it like an IOTW in the Christmas time is very sad. Jingle bells would be better !

It is a very sad picture for the holidays--sad not so much for those contemplating suicide because of drugs,or other serious addictions who simply cannot see any way to continue, but for all those who love them and would help them find a way out of the darkness if they knew.
Two year anniversary of such a suicide coming up in February. A charming young man, brave and compassionate in his career, with a fatal addiction to gambling. The father of my oldest grand-girl. Christmas is very hard for her--just barely five then, her most vivid memories of him are at that last Christmas. I should have guessed from his subdued behavior and the sudden shine of tears in his eyes when she chose to sit next to me at dinner.
The IOTW makes me weep every time I open that page. He hung himself in a lonely hotel room in Bossier City. Gambling to the end.

Maybe a stupid question (don't seem to find the answer by the search function), but what requirements does an image need to be submitted to FIOTW?
I mean, are certain subjects more liked then others, is do they have to be of a certain size (like minimum a "large"), ... questions, questions, questions

Thank you, but I knew that. I know how the search function works (I am a mod myself an a major music forum) - I've browsed all the threads but none of those contain an answer to my question.
yes, the FIOTW gets taken from a pool of pictures, but that still doesn't say anything about the requirements.

Guess i read your question wrong! Sorry
You can see though that many of the people who ask questions dont search the forums first, otherwise there wouldnt be 50 FIOTW threads.
Maybe it should be a sticky somewhere....
Anyways, I don't believe there are any real requirements besides luck, and having a useful interesting picture. You can simply tell them that your whole portfolio is open to them, then you dont have to pick one...
"We appreciate and welcome all donations, but not all that are offered are necessarily suitable. Since many (if not all- I can't recall) of your inspector team have graciously opened their portfolios to me, I've got lots of great stuff to choose from. Generally, you have a better chance of having an image chosen for IOTW if you give me a bunch to choose from. Also, donated images go into a pool which I pick from. The fact that your image hasn't been used yet dosn't mean it won't be in the future."
