Looks like Canon is putting out rebates on the 5D in various countries.

Rebate in Canada

Basically, it's $300 CAD but you have to buy a lens or accessory, perhaps a 50/1.8 and then sell it immediatly?

Strange how they excluded the 24-105/4L IS, which is what I would have gotten.

We had rebates for the 5D and 24-105/f4L combo in Australia a couple of months ago when I bought them both. I received my $500AUD cashback in my bank account within a month.

Oh man... why did you have to show me this? I'm already spending too much on photography equipment as it is... the temptation is killing me!!

My thoughts exactly!

I think a new lens or a set of strobes would be more useful ... but MAYBE I could justify the cost of the 5D through the higher rates for XL images. Hmm ...

I've rented a 5D a few times now and I can honestly say the XL size doesn't really pay for itself... HOWEVER, the full frame does kick some serious butt... the higher resolution is just a bonus.

Ha ha. C'mon guys, you know you want it. It's full frame, it's even XL size in iStock world, it works like a charm and performs even better. Go on..
