Update: the lightbox is slowly starting to fill, check it out here:
It’s spring and we’re organising a Minilypse here in Holland on Saturday may 28th 2011.
The goal is to get some shooting done, but of course also to meet up and socialize.
We will be shooting at three locations:
- A room on the Pier with a bar and a view on the beach with the Kurhaus http://www.pier.nl/
- A classically decorated room in Strandhotel Scheveningen http://www.strandhotel-scheveningen.nl/media/virtuele-tour/ (Cognac room and (after 11:30) breakfast room)
- The beach
There will be 2 models at each location.
We split up in three groups that rotate around the locations.
There is room for landscape too, I think it would be better to shoot in the evening instead of early in the morning though.
When we’re done, we eat in the restaurant on the Pier, explore Scheveningen and hang out.
Cost per ticket is 75 euro.
The maximum number of attendees is 21 (7 per group).

ETA - I have never been to a mini-lypse before - Is it obligatory to wear a mini-skirt ?

Wearing mini skirts is the main purpose for those Mini Lypses, so of course it is obligatory, Kieran.

OK fellas, some update. We (Olivier and me) will meet upcoming saturday to scout a little bit in Scheveningen. We will try to find some spot which may be useful. If you have any experience on Scheveningen, please shoot!
We have already called Kurhaus and asked for possibilities. If they reply us before saturday we may be able to discuss it face to face as well.
We have also thought about some concepts but it's still early to call. We may further need help for some 'new' faces for modelling.

Like Jim said, we’re still planning and will scout the location next Saturday.
We would like your input before we go there, so please let us know what you think.
The general plan is to shoot on three locations with 15-20 attendants in three groups, the beach, the boulevard and a nice inside location like the spiegelzaal at the Kurhaus.
We’re calculating two models per location and planning on paying the models for 4 to 5 hours of shooting.
Q: Would you like more variation in your shoots and have less time to photograph, or would you rather have more time and less locations/themes?
Like 9 settings 4 min pp, 3 settings 16 min pp, 4 settings 11 min pp? (based on rotating models and photographers)
We do not know the exact cost right now, but to speed things up and assuming there will be 15-20 of us attending we are going to set the cost at 75 euros.
If the Minilypse turns out to cost less, we’ll just drink coffee till we’re out of budget. If it costs more, we’ll run like hell
Please let us know what you think and suggestions as to what kind of models for each location are appreciated too.

Sounds like a blast Olivier,
Never done this before so i'll be in my adventurous mode and see what happens.
One thing i know is that i sometimes like to take my time and not rush things but rushing can be equally interesting.

Where do you get the models? Are they pro or semipro? Is it possible to see them before?
I think it would be worth to pay someone for makeup and maybe hairstyling, even if it will push the costs. And i would suggest to calculate something not expected, better to have some money for coffee than not enough money.
