Do any of the exclusive contributors here have any experience on sending new files to Partner Program and make them unavailable here on iStock. It seems a drastic move, but maybe worth tyring out?

Also if you are opted into the Partner Program, should your files older than 18 months automatically get included in the Partner Program, or do you have to opt those in individually?

Haven't done the first but for the files older than 18 months, you have to opt those in individually.

I've sent many and don't delete any.  I still believe they are different groups of buyers.  Someone who wants one or two images for a project is not going to buy a subscription that would cost more than buying the image on IS.  We'll see.  There has not been enough test yet, but many that I already have there are still being bought here.

I am thinking about sending some files straight to the partner program - files from the same series' as ones I already have on iStock but not uploaded.

My question is would the files sent to the partner program still show up in my iStock portfolio but with a statement that they are not available for sale.  I seem to remember that when the partner program was launched those de-activated from iStock and transferred to the partner program were showing that message.  I don't really want files showing in my iStock portfolio that are not available.

I haven't tried with new uploads, but I have set some older files for the PP only - they don't show in my portfolio here, but if you have them linked from other files, or you enter the file number directly, then it will say not available.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go.

If you move an existing file that already shows in your portfolio, it will be disabled for sales immediately. But as the search index updates only once a day, it may still show in your portfolio and searches for a day or two and then this message appears when you click on the file. After the search index gets the new situation, the file will disappear from your portfolio.
