This image appears to be over-filtered/over-processed which has affected the image quality. This may include Photoshop filters & effects (over-sharpening, excessive adjustments to levels, curves, contrast, hues, gaussian blurs, saturation, added textures, noise reduction...) or other manipulations. We feel the image would have more value to designers with minimal or no post processing effects so that the designers could add their own post-processing effects. Some images can benefit from minor touch-ups to grab the viewer?s attention and there is no definitive line to what editing makes or breaks a great image but the end result should be a single image that can still be molded into a design. Inspectors judge images based on quality, composition and usability.

My  Comments:

I really didn't do much post processing on this. It is a composite but the inspector did not mention any isolation issues so I guess that is OK. But I am wondering if adding the binary numbers (10011010011) was the problem. There is a No Resubmit on this which is odd for a "over-processed" image. That makes me think there is something else of concern.

I do think that I should blur the background for a DOF effect.

Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated.

In general, adding text (or numbers) to a photo in post is frowned upon around here, so I'm guessing that's what got you the rejection.  But that was probably an initial reaction to an obvious (well, "obvious" once you know ) gaffe, so they probably didn't inspect further.  I'm guessing if they had, you would have also recieved a rejection for the isolation which has a few problem areas.

I would say the overfiltering rejection is in response to ALL the manipulation. The composite work is way too obvious and we almost never accept superimposed text elements.

Conceptually...not sure what is going on here...it looks like a hand on a mouse but the position feels awkward and I can't really make sense of it being up in the sky.

Composite work needs to be both so well executed as to be virtually imperceptible, and should be done for a good reason, i.e. create or enhance a useful concept.

Agreed. I'm not buying the whole concept and comp.

It is entirely possible that the reviewer simply does not know what cloud computing is. Maybe you should describe it better.  But, I have to agree that the image looks a bit awkward.

Yep. This one has too many microstock violations built-in. It was a long shot but funny thing is, I know it would sell. Lots of folks don't know about cloud computing, but lotta folks do.

Thanks Sean and Don
