A friend of mine wanted to buy an image off istock. I felt this would be an easy process of signing up, buying some credits and selecting the phot and the photo to buy. Apparently I was wrong.
My friend selected the sign up button to be greeted with a 'sorry we are expiriencing high volumes please try later'. So he left it a bit and tried again. This time he got a bit further, but on one of the last sign up pages he go the 'we are busy warning'. So he started the process again but was told the email was already registered please try another. After getting though another two email addresses and having the same problem he called support. Guess what, 'please hold we are expiriencing high volumes'. He was unimpressed. I was too.
He got his image in the end. He gave me the file number and I downloaded it for him and emailed it over to him. I really hope this isn't the normal state of things.

That's terrible. Let's hope it was just a temporary blip - when did it happen?

It was about 1pm UK time.

even though you've solved the issue for your friend for now, you might ask him to send in a support ticket to the fine Customer Support team. Definitely suggest he include all the info about OS/browser, etc. along with being specific with the text you've provided above.

^ yeh I might ask him when he has calmed down a bit. Lets just say his language was a little colourful regarding his expirience with istock. Nobody likes their time wasted and that is what he felt was going on. He was working to get a pull up banner designed and wanted to just buy an image, he didn't want to do a website critique. It would have been nice if livechat worked. Maybe they should get some of the thinkstock livechat guys over here. Shouldn't a site make it easy for the customer?

Come on IS, I'd prefer that signing up new buyers was a painless, easy process. I tried to step through signing up a few weeks ago and got the same busy message. Shouldn't computers be able to handle a simple sign up process without trouble?

What's the point of iS chasing new buyers if they can't sign up? For heaven's sake!

Maybe that explains the lack of referrals...

The thread is a week old and the issues has already been resolved. Sorry to take away another thread for people to make comments but there is no point in it staying up.
