Hmm, 12:45am there already. A night owl...

Just listening to The Long day is over (Norah Jones) Very appropriate.

And how's the weather? It's 30°C here ATM

It's a bit brisk here ... 6 C. I'm not listening to music this time but am watching "The Fugitive" (Harrison Ford) on tv.

I'm getting ready to submit. *dusting off the rust* ;-P

ETA: Wow! 30 C is hot! Hope you're staying cool.

Hokay!! Nice start. Is that a hand-drawn heart? Now for some inspiration (not alcoholic though - I'm on a diet)

Thanks!

Alas I cannot take credit for the heart ... it is a photo I found here.

Here is the lightbox of images I used.

I look forward to seeing your response.

OK, I've had the weekend and can't afford to spend any more time on this.

Nice lighting! I can't spot what you used from my volley though. Where is it? It's probably right in front of me ... that's why I can't see it. ;-P

It's pretty conceptual, which is why I don't think the judges will like it. The mirror in your image became the gateway in mine - just the shape is the carryover. More obvious in the thumbnails. I did attempt to match the location and size fairly closely. We're supposed to carry over some element and shape is an element of design, but I can't see the judges being too impressed by that argument.

My current interests in image-making don't really fit the steel cage very well, but WTH.

That's cool. I like the fact that I couldn't see it right away ... kinda like those "find this" puzzle images. :-)

Hmmm, now what can I do with this?

great work guys... yeah i like creating my cage designs larger... things generally are easier to isolate and looks seamless when you downsize... can hide some of the nasties... also you have the option to use the larger file for something at a later date...

Oh, I've just noticed you started a new SC match! Great first round, girls! Christina did you create yours with a 3D sofware?

Most of my work is a combination of photography, 3D and hand painting. There's quite a bit more 3D in this one than most.

Mostly I use Blender but at the moment I'm looking at Vue so I used that.

It's just a truck that was driving away there when I took the picture (in New Mexico, by the way). I didn't add anything special to that image. My apologies for not taking more time for this volley ... I didn't have that much to spend. It should be better next time.

I'm having fun so far!

I was thinking more of something like this

comp01-800

I know the woman in the car has an istock watermark - this is a comp image after all, so I hope that's OK. And in case you're wondering, the trees are 3D render - a bit hard to find stock images that match my design closely. Car is too (I want a specific perspective).  Now shall I use photos for the fire, paint, or render? All equally challenging but I doubt I'll get any kudos if I don't use photos. Concept artist Jeremy Cook recommends using the best tool for the job. Hmm.

I say go for the best tool for the job. As long as you use a previous volley's element somewhere in the design, you should be fine.
