I want to create a script or something like that who can permit me to interrogate each page http://www.istockphoto.com/file_downloads.php?id=XXXXXX of my photos id and collect the result to create a spreadshit with the daily report of sales .

For do this is it necessary to know the istock api.

in particular there's a way to collect all the photo id of my portfolio without knowing the istock api !

thanks.

clear all; close all; clc;

a = urlread('http://www.istockphoto.com/search/portfolio/YOURIDNUMBER');
b = strfind(a, 'approve/')+9;
c(:,1:10) = repmat(b',1,10)+(repmat(0:10-1,length(b),1));
c = c(1:2:end,;
d = a(c);
e = zeros(size(d,1),1);

for kk=1:size(d,1)
    for jj=1:size(d,2)
        if d(kk,jj)==''
            e(kk)=str2double(d(kk,1:jj-1));
        end
    end
end

This works for page 1 of the portfolio, the list of photo id is vector "e". Not sure how to go to page 2.

Hope it helps!

Regarding matlab - every time I put matlab into Google Search (using latest Firefox on XP), and press Return, Firefox crashes. Peculiar.

I don't actually think the API will help you. It doesn't return data that is in the Individual downloads page. You would need something to screen scrap each page of the downloads for each image in your portfolio. That is kind of what Sean's Grease Monkey script does to get the most recent DLs for each image, except it only gets the first page of DLs and only for the images on a single page of 20.

On the otherhand, it is easy enough to write a script which goes to each page of your portfolio and opens each image and then scrapes the page to get the data you need but bear in mind, in your case with 4500 images and over 10,000 DLs you are talking about probably 10,000 - 15,000 page reads - at best it would take several hours
