Hi all,

i want to ask if somebody uses Moneybookers (MB)Mastercard prepaid card vs.Payoneer.

I previously used only moneybooker and paypal and withdraw to my bank's card, but now I want to test the waters.

From their site:

MB
  • FREE shopping worldwide
  • FREE top up via bank transfer, iDeal, Online Bank Transfer and Laser card
  • Worldwide ATM withdrawal: €1.80
  • 10Euro yearly fee

https://www.moneybookers.com/ads/mastercard/

also I am not sure how is thier exchange rate

Thanks for your time

I haven't tried MB Mastercard, but I did use Moneybookers for other payment methods before I started using Payoneer. My experience with MB is very disappointing, and I'm sure that I'm not willing to spend more time and nerves to check if something has changed. It took me weeks to solve the problem with them, the customer support is terrible, nobody answers the e-mails and support tickets, and it took me quite a while to explain the situation over the phone, because the lady who answered my call seemed like totally unexperienced, she kept saying things like "Oh, sorry, I have to check that..." I feel like I'll need to hear at least 5 testimonials which are completely different from my own to start thinking of exploring their new offers and possibilities.

I am afraid that I had a similar experience with Payoneer support. Something went wrong with the e-mail adress I had used to register with Pyoneer so I did not recieve e-mails sent to this adress. Unfortunately at the same time my keyword for logging in to Payoneer stopped working. It is theoretically easy to get a new keyword, but only if you can read the e-mail! So I wrote to customers support explaining my problem and asking for help to get a new keyword and to register a new e-mail adress.  I was just repeatedly in different words told that this was impossible. If I could not use the e-mail adress I had registered with them I could not register a new nor could I get a new keyword.  I am very hard of hearing and English is not my language so I did not want to call by telephone but over weeks sent several e-mails.  I am happy that they are careful with my accoun,t but there must have been some way around my problem. Now in this case the problem was solved when my e-mail after several weeks started working again, however my experience with the support was very negative.

Until now, fortunately, I didn't need to use support. And Payoneer worked very well for me. I've been using it many years, no trouble at all.

Thanks for your replies, I had no problems with MB, I use them from 2009 alternatively with paypal. They also answered quite quick a suuport ticket I raised 2 days ago.

They charge only 1.99 for FX (exchange rate) and have no comission for POS payments.

After reading in the forums, I saw that payoneer asks 1% for payments at the shops and charge more for FX, so far I am decided to ask for a MB card. I'll keep you posted

FREE looks great in ads, but they charge you pretty hard on exchange rates.
