I've been watching this show that's finally re-run on a channel I can actually get: http://longwayround.com/ and LOVE it. It's getting me thinking I'd love to do a similar trip... in the US... probably Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio.... But I'm open to options.
Curious how many poeple would be interested in a Lypse on Motos. Details are extremely loose as this is JUST an idea at this point. It would probably be more like a tour with shooting locations in between so it wouldn't be a full on multi-day photograph from sun up till sun down type of thing.
:: Update From Below ::
This will not be an adventure/off road ride. This would be road touring. No reason to make this more difficult then it needs to be.

That would be amazing, I've already watched Long Way Round and I am half way through the 2nd one......Long Way Down (and read both books, yup I'm a geek). Only one problem, I don't have a bike licence right now.....but if there are photographers in lets say a support vehicle role I would be very interested.
Cool Idea, I've been considering getting my bike licence to be able to do a trip like that..........OK let's be serious, not as long but in the same style for sure.

I don't see a reason a support vehicle wouldn't be if someone wanted to join along in that way. If nobody else replies... I will plan on doing this ride and I elect you to support me. lol.

btw, Rumor has it that "Long Way Up" is in the discussion phase. It would be from Southern tip of South America ending in Alaska.

That could be an interesting ride.....eh?
Long Way Up, Can't wait

I thought I'd clarify... either there are not many motorcyclists on iStock or I scared people away with my TV show link I posted above. I was thinking this would be Road Touring stopping at scenic locations for shoots. Maybe even schedule a location with some models... It would probably be more aptly titled "RoadTrip-a-Lypse".
I personally would LOVE an adventure trip like that show... but that's not the plan for this one. So now that I've dropped the degree of difficulty, I'm sure the responses will just flood in now.

Sounds fun. I've done pretty much the length of south america on buses but I don't think I'm up for a motorcycle tour. I am in Virginia so you can stop by when you get here.

Virginia here also... would be great to meet up with you all if you swing by VA!

I have a Harley Ultra Classic Trike and my husband has a Heritage soft tail. They are in New Jersey now but we are trucking them down to Florida. I would love to do a trip like that but really can't drive long distances. I would love to do a car road trip, that would be fun to me.

hoooya...I've not posted so I t hought I would.
I love this idea and would consider. Money is extraordinarily tight at the moment. Since we're already talking about VA, WV, I'd like to throw in my home state of Kentucky as a possibility. We have a rather strong bike night each Thur and it'd be especially fun it could be included. I could also show ya a few scenic places in the area -- think rolling hills, horse farms (equipped with real horses)...and even a scenic trip through an incredible gorge area.
Also, might want to hit Deals Gap at the TN/NC border. It's very cool if you don't know about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvqxGRb-s4U There are lots of photo opportunities in the area.
Still, though, dunno if I can do much of anything. I'm spending more time earning less with a rapidly increasing tax and medical insurance liability haha. Real life has hit in 2012 and I may not see light of day for at least two more years.

I can't do the entrie roadtrip but I'll join in on the ride if you come by this way

I would like to join in on that one. But I have no bike license. So I had to drive a support vehicle. If that is still on and happening
