Hi,


So how long did you guys had to wait for your first ever download when you joined istockphoto?


(I only have 3 photos now, so I know I will have a lot longer to wait if I don't start taking more photos but just curious so I won't need to hold my breath... haha)

Mine happened after about a week. Its completely unpredictable, just keep uploading good content. That's the key.

My first was about a week after my first acceptance, but it was a Christmas image a month before Christmas so I got lucky. In any case, that was no indication of much of anything going forward as far as trends or whatever else.

Aye! Way back when images were still worth something. (20c a DL. I just looked)


I don't remember months being shorter though, they seem to get that way as time goes on rather than the other way round!

A bit less than 1 month after my first upload and I got 92c for Medium DL!

Just less than 3 weeks, a $1.50 medium download. I don't think that image ever got downloaded after that one first time.

I am so excited to see my first sale after couple of weeks of uploading my images. Its so encouraging as reading other contributors I was not expecting to have any sales before 100th upload and with in one year.

It took me nine months from my first upload, but I was incredibly slow to uploading and my images at that time were not my best.

First download was after about 2 months and then I didnt submit anything for a couple of years I think .... not really sustainable as a business model lol. The only way of getting anything good out of this is to keep uploading good quality images!
