How long did you have to wait for your first download?

About 7 weeks, after I have about 42 files online....


made $1.56, first and only sale so far for this image,


and made my first payout one year later after the first sale.

two and a half months... for 23 cents.

I made 2.30 after 18 days of my first upload. I had to wait 20 days until next download of 69c. And then after 2 weeks things started to get better. Got my first payout in 6 months. It was a long waiting time.

In 2006, exactly 4 months to the day and it still only has one sale!!!!!  I spent every day checking until it sold.  The answer is keep uploading with good quality images and it won't be how fast but how many.

I finally got my first download ($0.88 USD for a medium size I think) after two months. Considering that I have only submitted 5 photos in total for my portfolio, I guess I am pretty lucky and lazy.


I can finally find some closure for the thread that I started. Hope it was useful reference for all newcomers to not lose heart (I almost thought I will never even get one download... maybe now I can start uploading again)

Microstock is about quality, but also about quantity. You will not get many downloads with three pictures. Keep shooting, shooting, shooting and upload, upload, upload. That's the only way to have decent returns.

My first upload was a month ago. Now 10 photos and 21 pending. No downloads. The ones pending are more iStock suitable I guess, still learning... 

A nice Large 3.5 weeks after my first accepted upload.  Was nearly another whole month before I got my second... an xsmall scoring $0.48, how the "mighty" had fallen

About 1 week after my first upload - XS and got 0.20$. 


I think it happened because I posted the image somewhere on this forum. 


 


I'm now desperately waiting for the next download(s) and maybe some ratings for my images because I believe some of them (though it ain't that many so far) are really good...

I waited around 6 weeks for my first sale and I started this year. My sales figures still aren't great though but I need to get more "suitable" images for stock instead of how I currently do things.

First download this week. So that took me about two months.

I got accepted as a contributor on the 7th of October 2011 and my first three images were acepted to the main collection on the 14th of October 2011. I had my first sale 3 days later. I have had my first payment already and am more than half way through to the next one. This is all with a very small portfolio of 162 photos. My Istockphoto sales are 99 and about the same from PP. I hope that helps everybody who is just starting here and is interested in numbers

Took about a week for me ... and i still have only a small collection on here. I should get more diligent about uploading.

17 days, precisely. A lot faster than I expected!
