Field rose Rosa arvensis is a kind of wild rose. Currently this 'clarifies' to 'Rosehip'. This is a declination falling down on two counts.

1. Rose hip is two words. ('Rosehip', on the other hand, might refer to some sort of commercial concoction made from rose hips.)

2. A rose hip is the fruit of any kind of rose. A field rose is a unique kind of rose, Rosa arvensis.

It's also not to be confused with Dog Rose (Rosa Canina), another type of wild rose.

Something that is very easy to do...

I see that, if you enter 'field rose' into the search box, it is possible to select 'field rose' from the drop-down. However, the resulting images still seem to be as if the search term was 'rosehip'. And 'field rose' may not be among the search words in the found images.

And if you type in "haw" and "haws" you get two more sets of results...

(I like the new avatar, Roger.)

That's another thing, David. A haw is the fruit of a hawthorn tree. I will add a request in the other thread.

Glad you like the avatar, Linda. I am selling it in a limited edition of 499,999.

The mirror wouldn't cough up a date of birth, Gary.
