Relating to Easy Release, here is what I am seeing:

Application Permissions:

CAMERA
Write to external storage.
READ_OWNER_DATA
Open network sockets.
Access fine (e.g., GPS) location.
com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE
Access coarse (e.g., Cell-ID, WiFi) location.
Read the user's contacts data.

Why does this app need to read the user's contacts data? Personally, I might not want it to have access to my location details either, but that's just me.

With EasyRelease when you add a model you can select from your contacts list and should populate the the corresponding fields.

Thanks - I realised that after I posted. It's still useful to be aware when you are opening up your contacts list, though.

"French in France"

IS requires a special model release for French ntaionals photographed in France ... does Easy Release generate a suitable release for this situation?

As far as I know, it's completely specific to France. (And only applies to French nationals in France -- for French nationals elsewhere, or other nationalities in France, it's business as usual.)

There are both releases, french in France, and french outside France, that can be use in Quebec. Very well done app!

Thanks Martine.  I only asked as the street photograohy laws are similar in both places (France and Quebec)

I know! But there are some differences, and iStock is very specific about having the right release for every circonstance as I learn with a lot of rejected releases when shooting french people in France!

To more or less answer my own question: you can create a 'custom' release in the app, so I could copy/paste the text from the IS French in France release into a custom F-in-F release in Easy Release.

I guess my question is: would such a 'custom' release be prone to the dreaded model release rejection, because it's not easily recognisable as a 'standard' release??

Do we need to brand the releases with the iStock logo or can we use our own branding? Meaning – do i need to create a release form for images I submit to iStock and one for images shot for other purposes? Or, is one universal release with my branding acceptable for iStock submissions?

On the "Easy release" app, there is already the french for France release, and the other one too! You don't have to copy/paste anything, everything is already there for you! So it it still a standard release that will be accepted by iStock.

I've seen this from another photographer and was wondering iStock would approve it for use. This will be great. Downloading it now and very excited to use it. Thanks!
