Hi, I am very new to the iStockphoto. I have 29 images in so far and have no SINGLE download so far. How long did you wait for your very first download? I started question the suitability of my photos for iStockphoto. Please share your insight. Thank you.

^ exactly, this gets asked all the time.

fyi - your keywords need reviewing. There are many descriptive terms for your images that you're missing. There's a lot of sites on the web (including Deepmeta) that can help you with keywords. Also, you've got some great images, but none that are too original. You'll eventually get some DLs with your current port, but they'll really start coming once you get more unique images.

It varies for everyone. But you are right to question the suitability for istock. There is a buyer for everything but some stuff sells better then others. In general you need to leave more space around you macro subjects. Pictures of a whole insect are more useful then just a portion. Allow room for the user to crop to format. If you back off a little you also get more DOF. In stock it is better to have the whole subject sharp. In general insects and flowers are highly compettive so your work has to be the best. Keywording is also very important. There are 43,000 entries in a search on "butterfly". Put in the common name and genus name. In a search for a specific butterfly name your photos won't even show up even though you may have what they are looking for. Use the critique and keyword forums. Don't give up, keep shooting and uploading.
