Why would I opt in?  As I understand it, if I opt in, new uploads go directly to patners and are not listed in IStock for a year and a half.  Then, I have the option to bring them back to IStock as well.  Can I expect sales to be as good, or better on partner sites?

you've got it all wrong. As exclusive you can choose which images go to PP. However, royalties from PP are so small that you may ask yourself is it worth offering images for much cheaper somewhere else?

No, they do not go directly to PP unless you select them to do so. New files have to wait the 18 mounths before then can be on BOTH IS and PP, before that they can be either or not both.
