It's a mess. I gave up and use the html upload, but that would be a problem if your connection is slow and unstable.

For a particular file upload, I can only suggest that you go Help...Contact Us...Contributor Relations.

Either that, or re-upload. The site has been pretty jumpy over the past few days.

FTP uploads here have a steap learning curve, but are well worth the time taken to master them.

I had terrible problems uploading at first, every time a different issue. yet now, a few months later, I upload 10 clips (40 files HD, PAL NTSC and JPEG for each clip) in a few minutes of work and never get FTP errors (unless I did something wrong)

don't use the text file, make sure you marked your folder _done (in lowercase) and that it shows renamed in the FTP after refresh

noticed sometime FTP is slower sweeping up folders

I use filezilla all the time, it works fine for me.

i always use filezilla for uploads,

i gave my file name as bulbul chicks.mov_hd

i got message that file uploaded successfully, almost 4days over i have not seen my file in the uploaded list

the name which i gave for clip is in order or not.....?

is there really a space in the file name?  You can't use names with spaces.  Also, you can't add the _HD after the file extension.

So, /file_HD.mov is correct, not file.mov_HD

Works like this:

yourfilename_HD.mov

yourfilename_THUMB.jpg

No spaces, no dots

and take both the _HD.mov file and the _THUMB.jpg and put them in a folder with the same name as the files and no extension yet

if you have PAL/NTSC versions they will be _PAL.mov and _NTSC.mov and should both go in there too

upload this folder using filezilla to your directory (the root, where FTP takes you after login)

after all files uploaded successfully, right click the folder in you FTP directory and choose "rename"

add  _done after the folder's name.

wait 2 hours or so

go to your "upload" link in your user on the istock site to complete steps

If you upload 1080, then the 720 file and the web sizes are created by iStock.

@benjikat,

Thank to clear that. Because nowhere is mention that. So than iStock also create web video format- mp4 and wmv correct? You need just one _HD, _META _THUMB file to complete FTP upload.

Even then, the Meta and Thumb files are optional. I also upload a custom thumb, but find the Meta text files too fussy.

+1

META files are a mess,

my life became much simpler since i've stopped using them.

just don't forget to click the anamorphic checkbox if you upload SD files,

or you will be rejected...

xxx needs to be the same as yyy, and the filename needs to be yyy_hd.mov

thanks ben

just suspended the FTP, renamed the folder as xxx_done and the file xxx_hd, started again the FTP!

It's really a time consuming process and I need to wait for more than one month to know the answer of inspectors.

Thanks again

I'm just uploading via FTP the file xxx_hd.mov

I've written "hd" not in block capital, is it correct or I need to write this in capital?

Once the file will be on the IS FTP server, I'll create on that side a folder named xxx_done and put my file inside that.

Is it right?

/Hi

The FTP process is finished. On the IS FTP server I've one folder named   catestrega_done and inside there is a file named catestrega_hd.mov

Now how long do i wait to find my file ready for title, description, keyword, release?

Also important where  will I find my video?

It should be ingested in a couple of hours (although sometimes 24+). You *may* get an email about it - I only get some of them. The contents of the email is added to the ftp as a text file so I just use that.

If you go to the upload page, then the are Unfinished Uploads shown at the bottom

I believe it should be _HD in capital letters .

once you get used to it, it becomes easy... and fairly simple
