I don't know if these photos may be suitable for your site, but they have a link with human psychology and humor ...

I think this whole thread has been a psychology experiment. Since the OP hasn't been back to visit in the last 3 weeks I think this thread has gone to meet its maker. Bereft of life, it has joined the choir invisibule. It is a dead thread.

Some beautiful plumage, though.

One last one that I couldn't resist.  Sorry it is a grimicing image, but funny as well.

My "young guy hanging himself" shot recently sold for the first time though. Maybe a connection? Or maybe as you say, just another loose string in a woefully long thread of infinite psychological experiments gone awry. Or simply gone. Or I should simply go. OK.

This is what I learned:

1.) OP was looking for ideas for Psychology Humor and didn't like images that those keywords produced here on iStock.

2.) Google Search didn't show any "good matches" either but it did show most of photos from this thread.

3.) I am going to exploit Google Search behavior.

So, here I go:

I did site mail the OP a week or so agoand requested that they come by to provide guidance...  so 'they' have been notified that there is activity here, but I didn't tell them how much FUN it was!!!

Thanks for all the feedback, it took me a while to figure out where they'd moved my question.

I get why it's confusing: I'm not often looking for specific disorders, although sometimes I do. If you take a look at this page, it may help. https://www.facebook.com/MomPsych I'm looking for concepts that aren't about facial expressions, and perhaps it requires a bit of knowledge of psychology to come up with something subtle. If you page through the banners on the FB page, you'll see what I mean. (And you'll see that I tend toward the concepts isolated on a white background). I loved the guy peeking through the blinds. And the exhaustion at the end of the week portrayed by the feet sticking up over the desk. One of my favorite psych humor posters is a picture of Freud shaded in pink and labeled "Pink Freud."

Anything subtle, linking to pop culture--but with an obvious psych reference. Psychology isn't just about moods (facial expressions) it's about excessive things we do. (ie: anything we do that crosses the boundary of "normal behavior.") That can be a woman hoarding cats, an elephant on a couch complaining that no one notices him even when he's standing in the middle of a room, a mechanic bending over a brain with its "hood" up throwing odd bits of hardware here and there--it's wide open, I realize, and I'm sorry. Which is why grimacing faces seem so . . . inadequate. Psychologist Alfred Adler said, "The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well." Mr. Bean is a psychologist's dream.

I don't know whether this helps?

PS: Looking at the posted images, I do like the piano being hit by a hammer. There are some brain images I've liked: a brain hoisting dumbbells for instance. If I'm looking for an image to go with a specific article, I do use more targeted keywords, but my banner isn't usually tied to an article topic so it needs to be able to stand on its own and tell a funny psych-related story. I like to rotate these out on a weekly basis.

It may also help to consider that psychology isn't just about disorders. The study of psychology applies to healthy people too--it's the study of human behavior, how we think and why we do the things we do. It covers those little biases that trip all of us up in our thinking. The foibles of human nature. Today on my banner I have an image isolated on white of a spoon casting a fork's shadow, for instance.

Here are a few photos that I have tagged with the word 'humour'. I leave you to decide on the psychological angle.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried a search for surreal (bizarre concept) - plenty of funny craziness and I tried dream surreal - I'm sure the images are here if you change your search.
