Just like the vetta forum, contributors could post overturned / not overturned scout decisions. This would give contributors an insight into what is worth submitting and possibly cut down on ticket numbers. It would also keep scout on his / her toes since the decisions would be public for all to see.

It sounds like you got one of your files rejected and Scout agreed. There is no layer past Scout and I don't suspect that is going to change. The buck has to stop somewhere.

Thanks for the reply Lobo. How about addressing the issue rather than deflecting it by making it personal? The suggestion is not to overturn scout decisions, but to introduce an element of checks and balances into the process; something which iStock badly needs.

Post the file in the Critique Forum.

What file? This is just a straightforward suggestion with no agenda, and it deserves a bit more than the 'shoot then open your eyes' type of response. The scout system is one of those old managerial cul de sacs where absolute power resides. You don't solve that by having more layers of scouts and overseers. You use the transparency of the community to form a system of checks and balances. The buck doesn't have to stop somewhere, as Lobo puts it.

If scout makes the correct assessment it's there for all to see and gives confidence to the community. If he doesn't then his misjudgement is out in the open and at least one of the contributors can feel better.

So its not personal, there isn't a file going to the critique forum, and if you can come up with some pros and cons, please post them.
