Today I experimented AGAIN a sudden decrease of my images available at thinkstock, from 8022 to 7630. Not only they do not upload more of my pictures for months, but they are actually reducing the number of them available for sale. This thing is broken, broken for months and NOBODY do or SAY nothing about it. This September Issues are a wake up call to exclusives, the way I see it.

I dropped as well at Thinkstock and Photos.com... about 65 less in both, which carry the same photos. I have been losing images steadily for months, but usually ony a few at a time. I am sure it would do little good to ask why.

I cannot even get to photos.com - I think because their implementation ip geolocation which is supposed to regionalise the site does not recognise our ip ranges. All we get is their server error message. Since a couple of months now.

/I noticed a sudden drop months ago. I didn't even bother to ask why.

On the positive side it looks as if files are actually moving over to there.

I suspect that it's a problem with the total showing, rather than an actual problem with losing files from the collection, but as with so many things here there is no proper way to check.

ETA I can get on Photos.com, but the normal name search shows no results, and my username gives two results. Last time I checked searches were bringing up other files of mine though. That's what makes me think the files are there, just not showing in the name /username search.

You may have already tried this, but put quotes on each end of your name and try it.

Thanks, but I've tried it with and without quotes and with various spacings. Either gives me nothing or the same. SNAFU.

I can get to it from France and I could get to it from Greece the other day (but not via 3G). And when using the 3 network in the UK.

From here I get a 500 server error message ("we're sorry but something went wrong" etc). Using the same computer, the only difference is what network I am trying it from. And I notice that it reverts to a regionalised URL depending where one is. This is what makes me certain that this is an issue around the use of IP geolocation. Almost certainly their IP database is out of date and does not recognise certain IP ranges. Since probably at least two months now. I started a thread about it here which was deleted.

Wonder why they deleted that thread? I'd have thought they'd have wanted to know when stuff wasn't working and any ideas of a possible reason.

I wonder if and when they'll fix it?

It was weird. And weirdly rude.

Anyhow here is a screenshot of how photos.com looks from some networks -> I think when their server is unable to geo-locate the country which a client is visiting from. Definitely a problem at their end.

photos

It has been like that for ages. Despite the message saying that they will take a look at it shortly.

Nearly two months later and this problem still hasn't been fixed. photos.com site still isn't available here seemingly because of a poor implementation of IP geo-location.
