I've just noticed some images of US politicians accepted as editorial. Has IS changed its policy on this as I had UK politicians rejected as not permissible?

Thanks for that link - explains the McCain pics - but not the apparent double-standards when it come to UK politicians. We probably have law against it

It was mentioned here when we updated the editorial manual. If the imagery are on non-public locations, consent/accreditation will still be needed.

If it's any reassurance, I can confirm that my images of Amber Rudd were accepted. She's PPS to Chancellor George Osborne and Conservative MP for Hastings and Rye so British politicians are fine -just depends on the circumstances as Subman says above. In my case the images were taken at a public event in the street so didn't require accreditation. Regards, David.

Mine were of Ed Miliband in the street - so I'm even more puzzled now

Gary, your file was uploaded on Apr 23, 2011, the manual was updated in May of this year. So no need to be puzzled

Royalty will be handled pretty much the same as celebrities/politicians, within public areas and depending on the event , context etc, will all have an influence of making the image acceptable.
