Disturbing Trend?

Why apple is giving more to contributors? They know the definination of "contributor", they know where the butter and milk came from. It is the right thing to do, while it is not the case with these " photo agencies", except pond5. Expect to get fewer next year with istock. When everything messed up here in istock, contributors suffer more.

 While I am typing the nonsense, I am still uploading, hope the sun is rising tomorrow.

Something is definitely broken here...and sadly, has been for a long time now. Prices are a joke, the BM is brutal, long never ending list of technical issues...blah blah blah...

No downloads almost a week. Ghost-town. Tick-tock-tick-tock.

Is that site somehow connected to getty?

I don't think it's related to getty and the quality of it's footage isn't great + the library is too small for big impact. 


Also about the topic -the trend was too disturbing for me to stay exclusive. Don't know how it will be now, but hope for the best.

I got a Getty refund too I think it was for Jan but can't be sure?


Due to the Getty bug I have no videos ported over onto Getty For most of Feb and all of March (so far) and into the future. It's so disappointing not hoping for any Getty downloads now. This bug has been going on for months. I find it disgusting for a multi billion dollar company to be so rubbish at sorting out major site bugs. I'd love to know how quickly they would fix things if there was a bug in there monthly pay checks. It's exactly the same thing for us contributors but the people in charge don't seem to care.


I can't see myself staying exclusive at this rate. There is no incentive to stay?


 

Getty stats for me is spiralling down anyway.

Wonderful, I have the lowest money I have ever earned in 6 years and now refunds?? just lovely.

Just had a refund - the first refund I have had from a GI Sale. ("We regret to inform you that a refund of $38.50 has been issued for the purchase of your file #9646355. This file was purchased from the Vetta or Agency Collection on Getty Images. This transaction has now been voided from your GI sales. The client has complied with all policies surrounding the refund and destruction of this image.")


Are others' refunds through GI or iStock sales?

Yes, same type of mail. 5x.

It was explained in the Discussion forum, they just processed 2 months of GI refunds.

  . . . but if YOU were a video producer, wouldn't you just join ?. . . download 100 AE templates . . . as many standard Stock shots for your kind of business . . . grab a bucket of Audio and walk away . . . Job Done . . .

My downloads stopped after 8th of this month,and then get 1download on 18th (small web version),again till now nothing.


Very much frustrated.Recently received 2 emails for refund,one vitta download and one standard ($166).So my account is almost nill now.In 2010 my average downloads was 38,then every year its dropped,and now in 2013 average of 14 dls.I still have some hope for IS.I will wait for another 6 months.

And then you decided to reopen the discussion because you hadn't seen a sale for a few days. And then this was about refunds, non-exclusivity, [enter addition reasons to rage here].

So lets figure something out. You all don't have a Video specific sales thread monthly. Some of you might participate in the main threads in discussion, but I reckon there are a number of people who don't post anywhere but in here.

There are video specific issues that you'd all like to discuss I'm sure - so what are those issues? Give me some examples. I just seem to only see these ambiguously titled threads pop up in which people comment on a number of issues. Which really makes it hard to track what issue is specifically being discussed.

No worries, i will keep my emotional reactions to myself from now or at least wont share those here. 

I don't think that is a promise you can keep. I guess rather than asking you how you would like to set up discussions on issues I could just lock the thread and call it a morning.

I will wait to see if there is anyone else who has feedback on what we can try to do. I guess in reacting as you have essentially allowed me to prove my point that we need to better identify issues in the video forum so Admins can actively participate and assist. I suspect you want some additional information on a number of issues. I don't see how resurrecting a poorly titled thread in order to complain about an issue is helping you get your point across, but that's just me. Granted, I spend a lot of time in these forums and tend to be the fellow who tries to get discussions focused.

So it's sort of up to you to be a little more proactive in the forums. Or you can continue to just expect us to read your mind and piece through a number of ambiguously titled threads that aren't really focused on any one issue. How can we help?
