I read in the help forum that there were some people having issues finding their files while doing a search, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I figured I would pick my most downloaded file (17630856) as it should be the easiest to find.  I searched using the four most popular keywords (Family, House, Child, Drawing) and my file doesn't show up at all using Best Match, File Age, or Downloads.  While this is a bug I'm sure, I figured the fine folks in the Keywords forum would be able to get to the bottom of it!

And to show that I'm not going blind, here is a screenshot sorted by downloads that doesn't contain my file (which has 118 DLs so should be visible here).

Thanks,
Rob

It does show up in a search through your portfolio, Rob, as your most-downloaded. So it is there to be found - somehow.

Yes - and that is why I think something "keyword related" must be going on.  I haven't added any keywords to this file since I uploaded it 14 months ago so this search should find it (especially when the file close-up page says these are the four most popular keywords).  Very weird - and a little scary.  I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for it though.

Have you tried deleting and then re-uploading your keywords for that file? (Would take a while to take effect, if it was going to.)

I am only going to resort to that if David says I need to!  As I said, I have never changed keywords on this file since I uploaded it in September 2011 so it's surprising it is happening now (that said, I'm concerned now how long it has missing!).  In the help forum there are others reporting the same issue so something wonky is definitely going on.

I tried each of the four keywords individually in my own portfolio and it appears that "family" works, but "house", "child", and "drawing" do not.  Very weird.

Have you tried dancing in a circle around a fire waving a live chicken?

Seriously, we shouldn't have to do things like deleting keywords on random files in the hope that they correctly show up.

With or without a live chicken, if there was a fire in front of you would you jump up and down asking why no one's called a fire engine? And you supplying Greasemonkey solutions...

True though, this is one of the many things that contributors should not have to do, in a perfect world.

awesome...i need to go find me a chicken.  yeah, i'm also frustrated by the keyword issue (and like others, it seems to be happening ONLY to my best-selling files (good times))  At least it's a bug that they're now aware of...

It appears that the DEV team has fixed the problem (at least on this one file - I haven't checked others) so all is right in the world again!  Thanks folks - very much appreciated!
