Let's try this:

Weekend Indexing: It doesn't exist. We do not index over the weekend. Monday is typically when we begin indexing files that had been uploaded over the weekend.

SO, you can expect to NOT seeing any indexing over the weekend.

Un-indexing: There have been a number of instances where folks have seen previous indexed files fall off the map. We are aware of this and hope to have the cause of this issue nailed down over the next week. We appreciate it's not helping things to have files arrive only to have them disappear. We will get news on this mid-week.

Best Sellers: There have been reports of people losing their most popular files in searches. This has been observed and documented for the folks in Dev.

As soon as we can get with Dev early monday we will get a better idea where it's going to be in the queue of fixes.

Keyword issue: Issues related to main keywords being removed from best sellers has been identified. This is queued to be fixed as early as Monday but realistically EOD Tuesday.

NOTE: Folks, if you see people talking about this in other thread please lead them back here. This will serve as the ALL THINGS INDEXING this week.

Thanks much for the status report Mr. Lobo.  I just wanted to add that one other quirk is associated/linked to the disappearance of great selling files from BM and newer files dropping out of portfolios. My port is 130 files lite, a lot of them are newer files as others have pointed-out, but that does not account for all 130, so some other as-yet unknown group of files also left my port when this all happened. The ironic thing; my best selling file that disappeared from most (but not all) Best Match searches, IS still showing in my portfolio.  Gently stated, I'm not feeling good about November right now.

Thanks for the update!

Three of my Christmas videos are not appearing in searches under the keyword "Christmas." Two of the three are Vettas, which were making good money for me this time last year.

I posted this in the Keywording thread yesterday but I think it might really belong here so I'll delete it from the other thread:

There's something very strange going on with the keyword "travel". I noticed it first in my own portfolio - that loads of non-travel-related images are appearing although the word "travel" isn't in my list of keywords. I then tried it site-wide and the same thing is happening.

Since writing this, I have had a site mail exchange with pink_cotton_candy and we have discovered that this problem comes and goes.

Thanks for the update.  Sounds like it might be best to stop uploading for now.

As new uploads wouldn't be your 'most popular' files I can't see how new uploads would be effected by that issue. Considering we don't index on the weekends your uploads today aren't going to be effected. The un-indexing of files also would have anything to do with your new uploads.

But you can take a break if you like. Enjoy your Sunday.

Thanks for the update.

As far as the Keyword issue, I have image #20153645 that the keyword "Backgrounds" was NOT removed but not being picked up by the search, even within my own portfolio.

If this is the same thing that your talking about please delete.

Can we get an official line on uploading while these bugs exist. I made a start again this week, but if there are indexing issues, should I continue?

Just to be clear - bugs are fine and I am sure they will be fixed, but would Dev advise to upload as normal, or wait until we have an update from them?

Index building over the weekend might be a no no due to holiday time. But I can say that indexing during weekdays is not at all regular and did not occur on Friday and possibly Thursday. Inspection times are reasonable but the indexing is extremely spotty over the last several months.

Why it is so hard to set up an automated program to run an index update everyday at a set time? Even if the index rebuild process needs to be babysat becuase it crashes, it is just bizarre that a multi-hundred million dollar company can't afford to pay for a 24/7 support staff, it's not like iStock is a cottage industry making hand-made widgets to sell at the local markets.

Try and keep it on topic. There really isn't anything I can do with commentary like this. It only provides distraction from what we are talking about. Please do try and keep it to a minimum.

My some images got selected on Friday and in the acceptance notice it stated as "Please note that the file will be available within 24 hours."what is does it mean? if you are not going to do indexing works on weekends........that files are actually taking more than 72hrs to appear in search and portfolio!

Some of you images might well have been accepted on Friday, but there is no indexing on the weekend. So it's clear we could amend the language in the note to include we don't index on the weekend. This probably will not be the case forever. However, until the time comes where we are indexing on the weekend we will not be indexing on the weekend.

I just noticed that two of my images that were accepted on Saturday and now are indexed have the same problem as my best sellers. They don't show up in search results for the most relevant keywords. In this case "businessman" or "businesswoman".
I guess it's better to stop uploading until this is fixed.

My best selling files are still invisible if searching by one of four most relevant keywords.
For example, if I try to do a search for a 'woman' within my portfolio, the search result is still returning without several of my best selling files containing word 'woman' in the most relevant (first four) keywords.
The same is happening and if I perform a search with any other of the first four keywords of those files, and the same is with a global search.

I am having the same problem. Recent accepted videos are online and visible in the portfolio. However searching with relevant keywords doesn't bring them in the result set.
