I have 556 video files in my portfolio. And yes, I know Istockvideo is very crowd. But sometimes (usually), when I try a random search in video files with random keywords, I found my files in last page or last but one. It does not matter; forexample I try a new search (Best Match Mode) and I found 280 page and (50 files per page). Yes smile I'm in the last page or last but one. Sometimes, in very very specific keyword search; I'm in second page or seven or six. I guess I'm the bad guy smile
I cant understand the best match.
Where is my fault? Could you help me about my problem? What kind of regulation I can?

Try to check on your keywords. It may be a matter of using the best ones which in turn are usually the ones that describe your file better.

Quality not quantity.

With all due respect...I would guess this has nothing or very little to do with "keywording"...we all know that iStock "slants" the BM to their liking which means that for many of us...it's "back of the bus" bay-beeee....t'ain't NOTHING you can do about it...the "good news" Lycian is that you are certainly NOT alone in this - unfortunately.

I'm in the same boat. All of my older best selling videos have been hammered to the back of the best match search.

I wonder if iStock would be so kind as to provide the "buyers" with yet another "toggle box" that says something like..."if you want some really great/cool overlooked clips that have always sold well in the past, but have now been shuffled to the back pages of our "Best Match" search - click here!" It would be like having two "new footage" links and everything...

The only real reason, in my opinion, as to why this is happening to all of us... me included, iStock/Getty wants to have the appearance of new stock videos showing up when people search... not just have the same old stuff show up time after time from the same search words. Even though the keywords match and the popularity of the file is still in demand. Try Searching for Red Curtains - 'Video only option'  Best Match. The first video isn't even Red, Switch to Title... First 5 videos are yellow, Switch to Rating... it gets a little better. Switch to downloads... and 3 of my Red Curtain videos are in the top 15 spots. I was exclusive in the beginning and these are my most download files, but the business changed in 2009/10 and things have been going down hill ever since. At least for me.

What about my red curtain videos? Am I not allowed to be in front of you?

Eta: boy, talk about lack of creativity. Look at all those curtain videos.

Sean, you need to add the keyword "red" to your HD curtain videos. At the moment, only your SD clips appear in a search for red curtain video.

Hey Sean, My Red Curtains should be in front of your... cuz all of your other files are way in the front of mine. Besides My files we're up on iStock a day or two before yours appeared. At least they used to be... now your NTSC Red Curtains show a date of 10-21-08... did you re-upload these???

Over one week here with no sales. This is seriously starting to suck.
