Relax hatman. Istock is actually working in real time but is located on another asteroid that is orbiting somewhere in the Milkyway. When you see 1 view, know that at least 1 week has passed since it actually happened. Magic, isn't it? The trouble is, Istock is traveling faster and is farther away with each second, so scientists predict that 2 years from now, 1 view will travel about 3,8 months to reach the Earth.
However, the real problem, as one scientist that wanted to remain anonymous stated, are the bugfixes. "Views are just the beginning. What really terrifies me are the bugfixes. It'll take months, if not years to release obvious, This is Jay fixes. This will also be incredibly exciting period for us, raising a big question - will Istock be able to break the speed of light barrier?"

Update on Views

Views are being calculated correctly but they are about a week behind.

I do hope this is not right, because it would mean that my images from September 1st until a week ago have not been worth viewing. Lets hope it will be fixed soon, because the zero views number is rather depressing. Either fix it, or remove it. Thanks!

Yes - pretty many 0 view files recently. Should we reupload or they are misreported?

Yes, this needs to be clarified. Does it mean that statistics are being back-grabbed from the last month or so, and will be added to our views totals when the process is finished?

I check views daily, and there has (as yet) been no sudden jump in views. Day-to-day, views still seem to be running at around 2% of what used to be reported.

Since sales are not reflecting the same downturn, it seems that views not leading to sales are happening, but we are not seeing them.

On FIOTW the views are definitely not 1 week behind. If they were, that would mean that thousands of people were looking at my photo a week ago.

It's known that views which lead to downloads get recorded.

^^ that's interresting, i noticed every time a new file got purchased the view counter increased. But definitely better to have files with no views but sales as opposed to have files with many views and no sales.

View counter is increasing more than the download number, so there are people, that did open the close up page and did not download it. If the views were increasing for the same number as the downloads, then it could be that, but it's not.

For every download you get (even if it's free) the actual view numbers are updated so you get the correct amount. As you get so many downloads on your FIOTW you get the views updated all the time. Not all views leads to downloads of course. But the views on other files doesn't seem to update at all, a week late or not...

ETA: What I'm trying to say is that for each download the total view amount gets updated. It's not one download/one view

Glad I'm not alone. Last 2 months have so low views counts that I find it hard to believe.

This is how I see all this mess about the BM, Views, Zoom error...

1. someone has benefit from all of this - I can't believe this is not reparing for a long time, despite appeals of a lot of contributors, besides that some have benefit from all this.

OR

2. All this excels abillities of technical stuff to solve the problems.

The current BM is good for newer files, bad for old best sellers. It would be nice to see a better mix of old and new.

It would be nice just to know what is going on!  I can't believe how slow sales have been for what has historically been a great time of year for me.

Several weeks ago I made comment to the effect that all the "updates" made over the last few years have made the site so complex that no one actually knows how to fix it. The IT guys appear completely stumped. What other conclusion can you arrive at? Nothing I have read or seen of late changes my original view....

Whatever is or is not going on at HQ, and whatever the problem may or may not be, there's no doubt about it that my own sales have been abysmal since the start of September. It seems almost as if the BM is on some sort of "auto pilot" which has made changes without any checks being made to see what is actually happening.

As I have said before, "ebb and flow" is one thing, and is fully expected. A sudden downturn of sales like this, corresponding to the site being changed is quite another thing, and I for one am not happy at all with it.

I know this site is extremely complicated. (Some might even assume it has become over complicated?) but we're over two months now waiting for fixes on lots of things. Again it's one thing waiting for it to be right, but how much longer is it actually going to take?

Also there any hope that the BM will be changed, or is this what we have to expect from now on?
