I think you missed the READ THIS FIRST post!  Have a quick read and follow the instructions and then the nice folks in here can help you understand the rejection.  Good luck!

Ok smile.. read it.

So, the image:

And the full message:

"We regret to inform you that we cannot accept your submission, entitled Virgin of Montserrat ( https://i.istockimg.com/file_thumbview_approve/22173304/2/stock-photo-22173304-virgin-of-montserrat.jpg) for addition to the iStockphoto library for the following reasons:
We found the overall composition of this file's lighting could be improved. Some of the technical aspects that can all limit the usefulness of a file are:
-Flat/dull colors
-Direct on-camera flash and/or flash fall-off (bright subject, dark background)
-Harsh lighting with blown-out highlights that lack details and/or distracting shadows
- Distracting lens flares

-Incorrect white balance"

And, leveraging this post, here's another image rejected, with the same message:

For the two images, i have the option for resubmit.. but rectifying before...
Don't know exactly what of all the reasons pay attention, in order to rectify.

Thanks!

Both are nice photos, but personally I would not bother resubmitting them.

With the Virgin, there are a few blown-out areas from the light source shining down on it. (baby's crown, Virgin's robes). Plus the light reflecting off the glass encasing the statue is quite distracting, and also very dirty.

In the city photo, it's quite dull and flat looking due to the overcast clouds. Scenes like these shot on overcast days don't tend to give you enough contrast between light and dark, so the colours are bland. Re-shoot this one on a nice day if possible, and frame the image to get that handrail at the bottom right out of the shot. Or clone it out later.

Thank you HeliRy !

Now, there's something I think very often, related to overcast/cloudy scenes... iStocks prefers the clear and sunny days photos over the cloudy? i mean , Bilbao is 70-80% of the time cloudy! jejeje... so i think i have a little problem :p !... maybe submitting the cloudy ones with more contrast (using, ie: zone system in color grading...)

anyway, thanks. This give me an idea of the direction in wich i gotta move

/regarding the cityscape - it is always a fine line between 'harsh shadows' and a nice bright sunlit scene, so you have to be careful on the 20% of sunny days too...

For this image, in my opinion, the sky is quite interesting, but the colours and contrast could do with a boost...  however if you do re-submit, you should remove the chromatic aberration - look at the lamp post bottom left  - otherwise you may well get an 'artifacting' rejection.
