Hello,

This topic is about one of my rejected photos because of incorrect keywording.

Please see the photo below. Do you think that the keyword "GIFT" is a wrong one for this photo ? because I don't think so..

It is frustrating, because you put a lot of time in a photo, a lot of technical details, post processing maybe, passion, and you end up with a rejection like this. I would ask the reviewers, if this is not a GIFT , then what is it ? If you take Christmas as a celebration, all the presents you give to friends, family are GIFTS.

Please , anyone, I really need a response to this post.

Thank you very much !

For me it looks like a bit of decoration, but you would be better off posting the question here or here.

Yes, the Keywords forum should be your destination.

I think you have got too close here, and lost the context of your 'gift' idea.

personally if i was searching "gift" and this popped up it would not be what i am looking for. better to keyword what is in the image rather than stretching ones own imagination in hopes a photo buyer has the same imagination. not always easy to do i might add. roger (whiteway) is on the mark, you have lost the context - it's a ribbon decoration. sometimes (more often than not) less is more when it comes to keywords.

Guys, that's a gift from above. There is nothing wrong with the keyword 'gift'.

Was that the only reason for rejection? Normally when a keyword isn't seen as relevant (rightly or wrongly) it's just removed and the image accepted.. assuming the image passes the rest of the inspection process.

Look further down your rejection message.

Non-exclusives can have a rejection just on keywords.

Photographer's knowledge of what was photographed does not count when it comes to keywords, unfortunately.

That isn't apparent from the image. I see no gift or box. I see a ribbon and some ornaments.

I'm going to lock this one as the OP has already posted this in the (correct) keywords forum - where I've answered his question
