Bad keyword. But why ?

This topic is about one of my rejected photos because of incorrect keywording.


Please see the photo below. Do you think that the keyword "GIFT" is a wrong one for this photo ? because I don't think so..


It is frustrating, because you put a lot of time in a photo, a lot of technical details, post processing maybe, passion, and you end up with a rejection like this. I would ask the reviewers, if this is not a GIFT , then what is it ? If you take Christmas as a celebration, all the presents you give to friends, family are GIFTS. 


Please , anyone, I really need a response to this post.

It looks like a gift to me...

I agree, it's a gift from above.

I agree that Gift is relevant to this image. However, to imply this image was rejected just for the keyword "gift" is not correct. If you look at your rejection email, it says :


The following keywords used for this file do not appear to be fully relevant to the subject.

{[ Backgrounds, Birthday, Gift, Greeting, Winter, Wood]}


Leaving gift aside, this image is not a background, nor does it illustrate a birthday (because of the Christmas decorations). It does not show a greeting of any sort, nor any kind of wood. It also doesn't show winter. Depending on where you are in the world, Christmas either falls in the summer or the winter. So unless your Christmas image also shows winter-like weather, it's also not an appropriate keyword.


I appreciate that keyword rejections can be frustrating, but you will never get a rejection for just one or two bad keywords. Keyword rejections only happen when multiple words are wrong, our usual threashold is 5 *


 


*and for exclusive contributors incorrect keywords are corrected for them during the inspection process
