I apologize if this question has been "asked and answered" but I couldn't even think of how to search for this!
I was thinking about iStock subscription sales this morning and I have a question (possibly stupid) that I'm hoping that someone can answer. Since sometimes questions are better asked with an example, assume a buyer has a subscription plan where they have 50 credits per day for $50 (so that the math is easy!).
If the buyer is busy one day and only has time to download one medium exclusive image (10 credits) and doesn't use the other 40 credits, the contributor would end up getting 25% x $50 = $12.50 for the sale (instead of $2.50) - hence why subscription sales are settled at the end of the day.
Would the contributor get 50 RCs for the medium sale in this same case - or just 10 RCs?
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

AFAIK, you only get the RCs for the image DL'd, if the buyer does not use up their credits, sub or regular, IS pockets them
ETA: This might HELP

I'm going to assume you only get the RCs for the size downloaded as well. However, the unused subscription credit $$$ are divided up as Rob had stated.

Rob, I had 24 subscription sales up until they stopped being tracked separately a month or so ago (or whenever that was). As noted above, the $$ per sale always seemed to bounce all over the place. (Now I understand why - thanks for that explanation ) But I have tracked all of the related RCs based on the size downloaded, and all along, my RCs have been and continue to be exactly what I expected and exactly as reported by IS (after the catchups from the various delays, etc.). So I'm certain subscription RC credited is based on the DL size.

Okay, thanks folks. The reason for the question was that I have a few RCs that I can't account for so I just thought that it could have come from "bonus" RCs from subscriptions. Back to triple check my accounting!

An EL (or obviously, more than one EL) will throw off your counting - since you usually can't figure out the size of the DL. I've only had one (EL) this year, so I was able to figure out how many RC's to allocate to it given that everything else matches up exactly.

Quick update (in case anyone cares) - I found my issue with my RCs. I incorrectly recorded a sale as a XS instead of a S and that accounted for the extra 2 RCs I was seeing (I know, I went to all this trouble for 2 RCs - it just made me wonder about the subscriptions is all!). So problem solved!
