I am hoping to get the data for what I am calling the Black Friday Bug (Nov 22/23) into development this week.

Just in case nobody say this in the Bug thread

Hi All, just a quick update here that the retropayments for the royalty drop that occured on Nov 22/23 has now been paid out. Please note this did not effect everyone. If your rate did drop and you had sales over that 20 hour period, you should have received an emai outlining the files licensed and the amount paid back.

BTW, Myself and several others posted that we did not receive an email, even checking the spam folder

No mail here, although I had downloads over that period and I noticed on the site that my royalty rate did drop.

EDIT: I see my balance changing without any sales, so I guess the payments are coming in.

Just received the e-mail.

Two problems, first it was missing 2 DLs that happened in the time frame and second is states "you were paid 5% less on downloads", I went from 35% to 25%.

They're processing download by download, I just got the second mail. But I still can't figure out their math. Can you please state also the total that the customer has paid in the table next time you send mails like that. I would like to see that or state at what royalty percentage the file was originally paid and at what percentage it should have been paid. It's just one or two additional numbers and the thing would be much more transparent. I am very good at math, but I can't find any combination that would fit that calculation even if I count some rounding errors with prices per credit.

The mail is incorrect. It lists one sale, when I had several dozen. The text is incorrect as I didn't drop one level, I dropped all the way to base like everyone else. However, the correction calculation on that single file, which appears to be an V/A, seems correct. Also this wording is confusing:

"Please note that this bug only lasted for about 20 hours so every download from that time period was not effected."

I think you meant to refer to the entire 22-23 time period but the use of 'that' as a pronoun points to the 20 hour period, which makes no sense.

This part is also incorrect:

"On Nov 22nd and 23rd a bug occurred which incorrectly dropped your royalty rate by one level, meaning you were paid 5% less on downloads during that period."

One royalty level is 5 percentage points, not 5%. From one level to the next is more in the neighborhood of 15%

"Please note that this bug only lasted for about 20 hours so every download from that time period was not effected."

Also, should be "affected," not effected.

Geesh! My adjustment amount was spot-on correct. With this additional 80 cents, my spreadsheet is once again pristine!!

Sorry for the confusing note...I should not have used the term level. Regardless, the dev team is working on these retro payments.

I just spoke with our release manager and he indicated that some people were only paid for any extended licenses. They are working through that now so please keep an eye on your inbox for additional payments.

I got my e-mail about the royalty adjustment and I think it has several errors. A file that I don't think was affected was included in the list, while one that was affected wasn't included. The royalty adjustments seem to have been incorrectly calculated. For example, my Vetta video rate got dropped from 36% to 32% but a Vetta HD720 video which was paid to me at $73.10 only had an adjustment of $0.35 - by my calculations it should have been $9.14.
